Statement
As a child of divorce, I never felt “at home” as I moved back and forth from parent’s houses weekly, unpacking and repacking my belongings like a movie-star who lives in and out of hotel rooms. Traveling became normal for me, whether it was between my parent’s houses or to destinations far out of state to see my grandparents. Aging has only made me more grateful for these family trips, realizing how nature became, and has remained, my greatest escape when times get tough. But nature is no fantasy. Plants and organisms are constantly generating, growing, adapting and dying, reminding me that evolution is a constant aspect in life as everything is temporary, and nothing is perfect.
