This piece is inspired by the vibrant and beautiful Chinese folk tales I grew up listening to. I wanted to express the healing nature of connecting with one's cultural roots, especially as a child growing up in America. I aimed to use bright watercolor in contrast with graphite to highlight hope and innocence.
