"Painting a Memory of My Mother"
People's Choice Award
This painting, done in acrylics, was done from a memory I have of my mother gazing out the kitchen window of my childhood home while she made spaghetti sauce for dinner. She had a habit of pressing her finger against her cheek and chewing on the inside of her cheek. The view out the back of the house was beautiful, lush green trees, and off in the distance, a view of the tops of the highest buildings in downtown Pittsburgh, PA. I wonder what she was thinking about.
