This charging bear came within ten feet of me with a 40-pound silver salmon in his mouth. It was extremely frightening to be so close to an animal that could have inflicted dire consequences. My heart was jumping out of my chest. I would return to this lovely area in Alaska to photograph them again should the opportunity arise.
